Richard Eaton Singers Scholarships

The Richard Eaton Singers (RES) supports the study of choral music at the university level.

In 1969, the Richard Eaton Singers Scholarship in Voice was established to assist students of voice in the University of Alberta Bachelor of Music program. The $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually. Applications may be made through the Student Awards Office at the U of A.

RES also has a long tradition of providing support to graduate students in choral conducting with the annual hiring of a choral assistant. Through this program, an outstanding graduate student in the U of A's choral conducting program is given the opportunity to work with the choir under the guidance of maestro Leonard Ratzlaff. These students gain valuable experience in conducting as well as in managing the rehearsals and sectional practices of a symphonic choir.

Choral assistants are paid to help offset the expense of their studies. (To see the biographies of these choral assistants, click on the photos below.)

Applications for choral assistantships are made through the board of the Richard Eaton Singers. For more information, please contact info@richardeatonsingers.com.
