The Richard Eaton Singers
On December 9, 1951 the choir, now known as Richard Eaton Singers, gave its first performance. At the time the group was called "University Singers", and the conductor was Richard Eaton, the first Chair of the Department of Music at the University of Alberta. On the program were seasonal selections by J.S. Bach and G.F. Handel and music by R. Vaughan Williams and H. Willan.
