The Richard Eaton Swingers
As part of the Richard Eaton Singers' outreach program, this 20- to 30-voice sub-group performs free concerts at seniors' lodges, nursing homes and hospitals, and at various functions held by other associations and groups in the community. The Swingers - as they are known - bring enjoyment to their audiences, and receive much pleasure in return.
The Swingers have given performances for many years, and present a varied program of light and popular SATB arrangements (some of which are home-grown) suitable for various occasions throughout the concert season.
The group is especially in demand for seasonal music at Christmas, and performs about 30 concerts annually, for audiences varying in size from 50 to 300 people.
Dianne Unger is the current conductor, and her repertoire of snappy one-liners between musical numbers brings smiles and laughter to audience and singers alike - as does her vast array of hats.
